As well as his normal work at gigs, and teaching music, John Bousfield is involved in many projects.
Current Projects
- Looking forward to the new term, particularly working on higher theory grades and 'A' level with students..
- That Horn Swings ( 16 piece band) did some summer concerts. The new arrangements are a delight and the band is sounding better than ever. The trombone section is a particular joy.
- The Sinatra band has now finished most of the summer gigs. Great new arrangements written specially for us by Trevor Vincent.
- The saxophone quartet with Catherine Embleton (alto), Tom Luckett(Tenor), Jan Lepley( Baritone) and myself on soprano are about to start rehearsing again.
- Still working on the History of Glee Societies in West Yorkshire.
- A very interesting project:playing saxes and flute for backing John Bishop and the Liverpool Phil. Gospel Choir at the Liverpool Arena. Elvis Presley's American Trilogy.
- Started to look at some Shostakovich waltzes for clarinet and flute. About to rehearse the parts with Kim Guizzetti.
- A good evening playing at the Beatles festival in Bradford; Poetry and Jazz with Nightdiver. Nanette Bousfield sang and performed poetry along with Tom Luckett and Geoff Kitson. I think that we managed to make the 'arrangements' different and unusual. A great success.
- Recorded some improvisation on Alto for the 'Deal or No Deal' Christmas Show.
