As well as his normal work at gigs, and teaching music, John Bousfield is involved in many projects.

- Great fun to be playing saxophone quartets again
- Burley Big Band in action on Wednesday evenings
- With Trevor Vincent's seven piece band on the last Wednesday of the month at Burley in Wharfedale Social Club from 8.00. Next one is on July 29th
- That Horn rehearsing some terrific Big Band pieces arranged by Tom Kubis as well as some of the Four Brothers stuff. Over the next few months planning on looking at some of Trevor Vincent's arrangements, and some of the music of Shorty Rogers.

- Played the flute and clarinet on the LP 'The Night' by Saint Etienne. The reviews have been extremely good.
- Thoroughly enjoying directing the Ilkley/ Otley saxophone group Ain't Misbehavin'.
- Enjoying running jazz improvisation workshops as well as individual tuition
- Many years ago I taught Clare Teal clarinet before she went off to do music at university and then became a very famous jazz singer. I was delighted that Clare was back on home territory to sing at the new Bradford live in November. A wonderful evening.
- The Anchor Band with Nan Brimble singing at Myrtle Park Bingley on Sunday 16. August between 2.00 and 4.00pm
- Playing at Burley Social Club with the Burley Big Band on again after the August break On Wednesday evenings.
- The Phoenix Four playing in front of Ilkley Station for Yorkshire Day on Saturday August 1st at 11.30am
