As well as his normal work at gigs, and teaching music, John Bousfield is involved in many projects.
Current Projects
- Great fun to be playing saxophone quartets again
- Burley Big Band in action on Wednesday evenings
- With Trevor Vincent's seven piece band on the last Wednesday of the month at Burley in Wharfedale Social Club from 8.00.
- That Horn rehearsing some terrific Big Band pieces arranged by Tom Kubis as well as some of the Four Brothers stuff. Over the next few months planning on looking at some of Trevor Vincent's arrangements, and some of the music of Shorty Rogers.
- saxophone and clarinet on the cd of Tim Wyatt's Silence of the Voices
- Played the flute and clarinet on the LP 'The Night' by Saint Etienne. They are currently doing a highly successful European tour.
- The Ilkley/ Otley saxophone group Ain't Misbehavin' about to restart for the Autumn on Monday 7th. Stimulating and fun.
- Enjoying running jazz improvisation workshops as well as individual tuition
- The Phoenix Four are playing old style jazz between 7-9pm on Friday September 4th. at The Angel of the Odd, 15 Duke Street, Bradford BD1 3LH. Should be a great evening in an ideal setting.
- Then. That Horn Swings rehearsal on the 5th and at the Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing Festival with the Eclipse New Orleans Band on the 7th.
- Yardfest at the Saltaire Festival on the 12th and 13th September.
- Back with the Burley Big Band on 23. September and then with Trevor Vincent's Super Seven at Leeds Jazz Club on the 29th and at Burley on the 30th.
